N4A's individual certification program was designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance, and designate those who demonstrate knowledge essential to our profession.

Earning and Maintaining Certification: show/hide
The Individual Certification exam is a 50 question online test. The Exam Content Outline will provide information on topics/subjects included in the exam.

Once certified, one must earn thirty (30) CEUs within a three (3) year period.

Q. When is N4A Individual Certification effective?
A. January 1, 2011.
Q. Who is N4A Individual Certification available to?
A. Anybody who desires to be N4A certified.
Q. How do N4A members achieve certification?
A. Pay the Individual Certification Fee of $50.00 anytime and successfully complete (80% correct) the N4A Individual Certification Exam
Q. How do non N4A members achieve certification?
A. Pay $250.00 and successfully complete (80% correct) the N4A Individual Certification Exam; OR pay $100.00 membership fee and pay $50.00 to take the N4A Individual Certification Exam.
Q. What if one fails the Individual Certification Exam?
A. One must wait thirty (30) days to retake the exam. There are unlimited attempts but there is a cost of $25.00 per retake of the exam.
Q. How do you register to take the exam and/or pay the $50 N4A Individual Certification fee?
A. All fees are paid through the National Office using either check or on-line payment.
Q. How many CEU’s are required to maintain one’s certification?
A. Once certified a member must earn thirty (30) CEU's within a three (3) year period.
